India reported an increase of 1,844 in active cases to take its count to 94,420. The country is twenty-fourth among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On June 27, it added 17,073 cases to take its total caseload to 43,407,046. And, with 21 new fatalities, its Covid-19 reached 525,020, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.


With 249,646 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 26, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,971,191,329. The count of recovered cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,787,606 — or 98.57 per cent of the total caseload — with 15,208 new cured cases being reported on June 26.


  • India has added 97,573 cases in the past 7 days.

  • India has so far administered 1,971,191,329 vaccine doses.

  • The count of active cases across India on June 26 saw an increase of 1,844, compared with 797 on June 26.

  • With 15,208 new daily recoveries, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.57%, while the fatality rate remained unchanged at 1.21%.

  • India’s new daily closed cases stand at 15,229— 21 deaths and 15,208 recoveries.

  • India on June 26 conducted 303,604 tests to take the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 861,015,683.

  • The five most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (7962666), Kerala (6624064), Karnataka (3964835), Tamil Nadu (3468344), and Andhra Pradesh (2320992).

  • The five states with the most active cases are Kerala (27772), Maharashtra (24608), Tamil Nadu (7458), Delhi (4939), and Karnataka (4438).

  • The five states with the highest fatalities are Maharashtra (147905), Kerala (69951), Karnataka (40114), Tamil Nadu (38026), and Delhi (26253).
